Ceramics is the art of making ceramics. One of the oldest arts that have been recorded with archaeological findings and characterize the culture of each era.
Wet clay takes the desired shape from human hands and is dried to form a solid form. Later it is put in a special oven and “baked” in order to increase its mechanical strength.
Due to the ease of creating desired shapes such as pots and figurines, but also the durability of ceramics over time, ceramics is the art / technology for which there are ancient archaeological finds.
It developed in Crete from the first Minoan years (3000 BC)
